After the 2015 General Convention of the Episcopal Church authorizing trial use liturgies for the celebration and blessing of same-sex unions, 93 bishops authorized trial use liturgies for marriage, granting sacramental inclusion to all. 8 bishops did not. These are the stories from one of the dioceses left behind in 2015: The Diocese of Tennessee.
The General Convention of the Episcopal Church met July 5-13, 2018 in Austin, Texas and passed Resolution B012, Marriage Rites for the Whole Church. Here is the initial letter from Bishop Bauerschmidt regarding how we will move forward in the Diocese of Tennessee.
We expected further information from Bishop Bauerschmidt prior to the first Sunday of Advent. As of Epiphany I, we have received no information about implementation of B012 in this diocese.
